Local Outreach Volunteers
Volunteers are needed for North Metro’s Crossroads Career Ministry, Solomon’s Crew, and to support our monthly Saturday Serve initiative. Please review the below opportunities for more information.
CrossLink Career Ministry
Unemployed and misemployed in the United States has reached an all time high at 17.8%. Many of these people attend North Metro or live in our community. Over 48% of people who are looking for jobs turn to places of worship for help. That's where we can help!
Our church believes that there is a tremendous opportunity to minister to people in our church and in the community who are in a career transition. We have a Christ-centered, volunteer-led Career Ministry, Crosslink Career Ministry, to serve our congregation and community. This ministry provides a wonderful way to help people become devoted followers of Christ at work, on the job, and in their careers.
The Crosslink Career Ministry program includes:
- Christ-centered Career Groups
- Network Meetings
- Resume Writing
- Interviewing
- Social Media
There are many opportunities for you to become involved in this ministry as a volunteer. We need people to help with the monthly Network Meetings in the role of Greeters, Resume Mentors, and Interview Mentors. We also have opportunities to serve as a Marketing Manager and Social Media Coordinator. You can become involved as a volunteer in this meaningful opportunity to minister to people in a career transition making an eternal difference in people’s lives. You will be trained and equipped as part of an exciting volunteer team.
Homestead Hospice
Homestead Hospice has immediate openings for volunteers to serve in their hospice ministry. The volunteer role in hospice is to facilitate communication with the hospice team and provide companionship to the patient. They can run errands, mow lawns, help plant a garden, read to the patient, or simply just spend time with them. Many hospice patients because of their diagnosis feel isolated from their community. Volunteers help relieve this feeling of isolation. Patients get tired of all the “medical” people involved and just want someone who will focus on them. What a great way to be Christ to the people in our community.
If you are interested in volunteering please contact Bud Darr at bdarr@northmetro.org or by phone at (678) 290-7830 x 122.
Solomon's Crew
Are you handy with a hammer and nails?
Solomon’s Crew was established in 2008 as a ministry to serve the body of NMC. They have worked on several projects including the Christopher Coleman, Blankenship, and Galloway Projects. Do you have home repair skills? Do you enjoy working in the yard? Do you have a desire to serve those in need? Then the Solomon’s Crew is the ministry for you.
Solomon’s Crew members will be contacted when a church member finds themselves in need of home repair, both minor and major. We will then connect you with the individual or family in need so that your God-given skills can be a blessing to all involved.
If you have experience in:

S.I.S.T.E.R.S
(S) Sisters (I) In His (S) Service (T) To (E) Encourage (R) Reach out, and (S) Support
This is a newly-formed ministry that will help families struggling with a death in the family, a spouse deployment, divorce, adoption, loss of income, new baby, and surgery/illness/hospitalization. This ministry will be used as a bridge between Stephen, Hope, and Benevolence Ministries.
The Ministry will provide meals, groceries/toiletries, clothing, school supplies, and gift baskets for new baby/adoptions/hospitalizations.
If you have a heart for serving others and simply being Jesus to the body, this is the ministry for you!
Volunteers are needed to help with meal preparation, deliver meals/groceries, and help with gift baskets. Please contact Hollie Cavanaugh at hrcav412@yahoo.com or Bud Darr at bdarr@northmetro.org for additional information to volunteer.
