North Metro Church
Saturday, September 14 | 8:15am
Saturday Serve occurs on the first Saturday of the month. This is a great opportunity for you, your family or those you’re in LifeGroup with to serve consistently throughout the year.
Breakfast will be provided in the NMC Cafe at 8:15am, followed by a time of prayer before we go out to serve our local outreach partners. Our serving locations and times may vary each month. When you sign up you will be able to view and select which partners you wish to serve. The signup deadline is Wednesday, May 1.
This month, we'll be serving at MUST Ministries, Atlanta Dream Center, McKenna Farms, Calvary Children's Home, and Street Grace.
* Please keep in mind that a parent or guardian must accompany all children.
You will be helping sort and shelf donated items so they are ready to be delivered to the MUST service centers.
Participating in their Adopt-a-Block ministry; serving low-income communities in the Atlanta-area through simple acts of service such as food delivery or raking leaves. This ministry aims to establish lasting relationships to show God’s love to all and provide prayer.
You will be helping with routine and additional projects to the property: painting, light construction, yard work, and cleaning barns.
You will be working on their campus and doing various jobs such as painting, yard work, window cleaning or donation sorting. You will also spend time serving and eating lunch with the kids!
The mission of Street Grace is to minister to the residents of local extended stay hotels, build relationships and ultimately share the Gospel message with them. The residents live in these hotels for many reasons including issues with addiction, homelessness, prior criminal records, etc. Our desire is to be able to minister to them right where they are in their life and faith journey.
There are other aspects to this ministry which will be discussed at the brief training immediately following our worship time at NMC. Please dress appropriately for the weather forecast, we will be serving outside at a local extended stay hotel. This outreach opportunity is appropriate for adults and children in middle/high school.
We will get to help this nonprofit private Christian school for children of low-income families by cleaning up playground areas, beautifying the grounds by planting/mulching and helping organize classroom storage.
We will get to help our Marietta school system by washing buses, landscaping, and cleaning at various local schools.
We will get to help beautify the grounds of Wildwood Park by maintaining trail clearings and vegetation removal.
We will get to help this local recovery center by installing pavers at this transitional.
