Spring 2021

Women's Bible Studies

Join us for our spring Women’s Bible studies! These encouraging and varied studies in God’s Word will bring you not only closer to Him but to each other. There will be both in-person and online group offerings this semester. Here at NMC, we hold high the Word of God, and seek to study it, know it and apply it to our lives. Doing this in a group setting provides an opportunity to study together and learn from each other.

Keeping the Faith: A Study of the Book of Jude by Lianna Davis

Facilitator: Rachel Cook & Renee Edwards
In a culture of subjectivity and "speaking your truth," we need to know how to lovingly fight for our biblically-based, truth-filled faith. That’s where Jude comes in. With a striking combination of humility, genuine love, doctrinal faithfulness, and directness, the biblical writer Jude teaches you how to treasure the gifts of salvation, the faith, the Church, and—most of all—Jesus Christ. By unpacking Jude’s meaning-laden words, we can learn to keep ourselves for Christ, even as Christ is ably keeping us for Himself.

You Are Free by Rebekah Lyons

Facilitators: Connie Allen & Melissa Crosby
Have you bought the lie? Many of us do. We measure our worth by what others think of us. We compare and strive, existing mostly for the approval of others. Pressure rises, anxiety creeps in and we hustle to keep up. Jesus whispers, I gave my life to set you free. I gave you purpose. I called you to live in freedom in that purpose. Yet we still hobble through life, afraid to confess all the ways we push against this truth, because we can’t even believe it. We continue to grasp for the approval of anyone that will offer it: whether strangers, friends, or community. Christ doesn’t say you can be or may be or will be free. He says you are free. Dare you believe it?

Rhythms of Renewal by Rebekah Lyons

Facilitator: Heather Simoneau
Daily struggles with anxiety and stress make it difficult to receive God's peace. Trade your anxiety for the vibrant life you were meant to live through four profound rhythms: rest, restore, connect, and create. Rhythms of Renewal is your guide to daily rescue and a way forward into the peace your soul longs for. As a society, we are in the throes of a collective panic attack. Anxiety and loneliness are on the rise, with 77% of our population experiencing physical symptoms of stress on a regular basis. We feel pressure chasing careers, security, and keeping up. We worry about health, politics, and many other complexities we can't control. Eventually, we find our minds spinning, trying to cope or manage a low hum of anxiety, unlike ever before. But it doesn't have to stay this way. Rebekah Lyons draws from her own battle with depression and anxiety and shares a pathway to establish four life-giving rhythms that quiet inner chaos and make room for a flourishing life.
